Cymbals Eat Guitars to release debut LP on 9/22

The genre of indie is expanding so quickly, reaching out to include so many genres and sub-genres that it's frankly impossible to keep track of it all. After all, what the heck do you say when someone asks, "What is indie?" Independent groups? Nope, not any more. Underground of rock? Maybe, but that's A) a useless answer and B) not strictly true as indie is now directly competing with pop for control of the mainstream. Just what the heck is all of this about?

That's why it's so fun to come across a group like Cymbals Eat Guitars. They're independent. They have an enjoyable new sound. They're actually, physically calling record shops, asking them to stock the band's new album Why There Are Mountains. The album comes out on September 22 and has been hyped from this side of the Atlantic and back. The are the ideal answer to the question of indie.

You'll be able to hear the new album on Future Perfect Radio sooner than September though. We'll keep you posted on that front.

The band is also starting up on tour starting tomorrow. Check for dates after the break.
