Asobi Seksu to support Yann Tiersen on tour!

Now this is a cool pairing.

Brooklyn's Japanese-influenced shogegaze-fusion act Asobi Seksu will be supporting French composer Yann Tiersen on tour! You may know the latter from his work on "Amelie" (though his album Les Retrouvailles puts Amelie to shame at some points). Tiersen blends vintage French street music with modern influences (see the harpsichord solo in "La Jetée") to create an eclectic sound that's emotive and always romantic.

Meanwhile, Asobi Seksu just released the critically acclaimed Hush where they proved they're more than just an awesome modern shoegaze group. This is an interesting pairing, one I may not have immediately guessed at, but one I'm dying to see together. See below for the dates.

You can hear Asobi Seksu's new album on our New Music channel, while Yann Tiersen's grand melodies are happily at home in our Chamber Pop channel.
